Submissions Guidelines for Scaffolding Magazine
Guidelines for writers:
Written submissions should be around 3,000 words or less. Please send your work in Microsoft Word format. There is no limit to the number of submissions from one contributor. We do not request exclusive submissions.
Guidelines for visual artists:
Visual art and photography must be of the highest, print-ready resolution, 300 pdi, for magazine page dimensions of 8.5" x 11". In the submission form below, please submit either the link to the web site where your artwork is uploaded or a sample of artwork compatible with email (under 10 mb). If we are interested in publishing your work, we will get in touch and request a print-ready file. There is no limit to the number of submissions from one contributor. We do not request exclusive submissions.
Guidelines for book reviews
If you wish to submit a book review to the magazine, published in your name, the key requirements are the following. The review must not be paid/sponsored by the author, but it is acceptable if you received a free book copy/ARC from the author in return for an honest review. The book must genuinely impress you and you wish to share it with other prospective readers. If these criteria are met, please follow these submission guidelines:
When writing the reviewer's bio in the submission form, please mention your preferences in literature, TV shows, and movies stating genres and examples in order to help prospective readers relate to the review.
Please submit the entire review in a single file, in Word format. If you wish to submit several reviews, please submit them in separate files.

- Book title.
- Author.
- Year of publishing.
- Page count (as it appears in the hard copy version, you may have to look it up).
- Publisher (or self-published).
- Rating on a 10-point scale (1-really bad, 10-excellent).
- Body of the review (700-1,000 words, consists of the book summary, about 1/3 of the review and an analysis of the book, 2/3 of the review).
